QU-AISES rocket team
This is a dynamic student-led project that engages Indigenous engineering students in utilizing their skills and training in an engineering competition, the First Nations Launch, sponsored by NASA.
In 2019, the Queen’s rocket team was the first student team outside the United States to participate in the exclusive competition, which provides Indigenous college and university students the opportunity to build and launch class K high-powered rockets.
In 2021, the Queen’s team placed second overall in the competition.
